Your new role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment and facilities. You will work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 2 days and 2 nights. You’ll be part of a skilled, cross-functional team responsible for planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives. Your work will directly impact the reliability and productivity of the bakery process systems, helping to minimise downtime and optimise performance.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Performing planned maintenance and reactive repairs on production machinery and site infrastructure
  • Diagnosing faults quickly and implementing effective solutions
  • Supporting shift engineers and collaborating across departments
  • Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Hygiene
  • Participating in continuous improvement projects and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency
  • Assisting with training and development of colleagues
  • Contributing to installation and modification projects across the site

What you'll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Essential:
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • A methodical and detail-focused approach to maintenance
  • Electrical and mechanical engineering qualifications or experience
  • Solid understanding of plant maintenance systems and HACCP principles
  • Ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure
  • Literacy and numeracy skills
Desirable:
  • IPAF certification
  • 18th Edition electrical qualification
  • PLC programming experience
  • Previous experience in an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment
