M&E Quantity Surveyor/Estimator – Belfast

Your new company

A well-established specialist contractor is seeking an M&E Quantity Surveyor or Estimator to join their growing team in Belfast. This is a commercially focused role, supporting both tendering and live project delivery, with involvement across mechanical and electrical packages.

This opportunity would suit someone with strong commercial awareness within M&E, who is comfortable reviewing tenders, managing costs, and engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.

Your new role

Working closely with senior management, you will support the pricing, review, and commercial management of projects, ensuring tenders are accurate and aligned with client specifications and contractual requirements.

You will also play a key role in cost tracking, valuations, and financial reporting, contributing to the successful delivery of projects.

  • Review mechanical & electrical tender packages, including JCT and NEC contracts
  • Support the preparation and review of project pricing and tender submissions
  • Ensure all tenders meet required specifications and client requirements
  • Measure and value completed works
  • Monitor project costs, variations, and claims
  • Prepare valuations and final accounts
  • Track project spend and provide updates to internal finance teams
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and site teams
  • Attend client and site meetings to support delivery and commercial discussions
  • Review subcontractor submissions and invoices

What you'll need to succeed

  • 3–5+ years’ experience in a commercial, estimating, or QS role
  • Background working with an M&E contractor or specialist subcontractor
  • Experience reviewing M&E packages, ideally including fire protection, sprinkler systems, or similar
  • Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts (essential)
  • Good understanding of cost control, valuations, and commercial reporting
  • Strong numerical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office / Office 365

What you'll get in return

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly successful business, which offers the opportunity to work on high profile and complex engineering projects throughout Northern Ireland. The successful candidate will be remunerated with a competitive salary, ongoing training and development and opportunities for career progression.
