M&E Project Planner – Top Tier Building Services Contractor – Newtownabbey

Your new company

An established building services contractor who specialises in the design, supply and installation of a wide range of off-site prefabricated solutions for the commercial M&E sectors throughout UK & Europe. Due to continued growth, they are looking to integrate a M&E Project Planner to support their Commercial and Contracts departments.

Your new role

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with internal & external stakeholders in order to manage projects ranging in value from £1M - £20M per project.

  • Be the go-to person and focal point within the business for Project programmes.
  • Alongside the Operations Team, develop strategic programmes for each phase of Projects: Pre-construction, Delivery & Commissioning.
  • Liaise with Estimating Department in assessing programme related Tender Documentation.
  • Liaise with Commercial Department on Subcontract Packages.
  • Work alongside site-based teams to update programmes based on true progress.
  • Attend client programme meetings where required.
  • Undertake risk analysis of live programmes to support Commercial and Operations teams.
  • Review implications of programme change/slippage and, where necessary, create recovery programmes.
  • Prepare monthly Programme Performance Reports for review with Senior Management.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Third level qualification in a construction related discipline or can demonstrate an equivalent level of construction/site experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within the M&E sector.
  • Commercially astute.
  • High standard of organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Programme Software’s such as Microsoft Project preferred – or similar.
  • High level of IT literacy, especially in Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication & negotiation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent client engagement skills.
