Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of older people? Do you thrive in a varied, people-focused role where no two days are the same? We are looking for a Local Housing Manager to join our Retirement Living team!

Your new role

As a Local Housing Manager, you will be at the heart of our Retirement Living scheme, providing high-quality, customer-focused housing and support service to residents. You’ll ensure the building is safe and welcoming, support residents to live independently, and foster a vibrant community atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a professional, effective housing and support service to residents.
  • Ensure all compliance, health & safety checks, and audits are completed and acted upon.
  • Manage reactive repairs, planned maintenance, and local contractors (gardening, cleaning, etc.).
  • Oversee void management, ensuring properties are let efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Organise and facilitate events and activities to reduce social isolation and encourage community engagement.
  • Respond to anti-social behaviour, complaints, and safeguarding concerns in line with policy.
  • Support residents with tenancy sustainment, welfare benefits, and signposting to external agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure GDPR compliance.
  • Assist with recruitment, induction, and line management of staff (where applicable).

What you'll need to succeed

  • Essential: Excellent standard of reading, writing, and numeracy. Competent ICT user.
  • Desirable: Experience in social housing, especially with older people or vulnerable groups (dementia, mental health, etc.).
  • Strong communication, mediation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Able to manage conflicting priorities and remain calm under pressure.
  • Committed to equality, diversity, health & safety, and excellent customer service.
  • Able to access all areas of the building (including stairs) and travel to other sites as required.
  • Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check required.
Qualifications
  • CIH Level 3 or 4 (desirable, not essential).
