Level 3 Teaching Assistant job in Walsall, Starting in September

This primary school is a welcoming and inclusive community school located in central Walsall. The school has recently developed resourced provision to support children with communication and interaction needs, including autism and speech and language difficulties. This provision is purpose-built and designed to offer a nurturing, structured, and engaging learning environment.

You will be working in our EYFS and KS1 resourced provision, supporting up to 8 children alongside the class teacher and two additional teaching assistants.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with SEND in their learning and development
  • Leading small group interventions and activities
  • Assisting with planning and delivering tailored learning experiences
  • Promoting independence, emotional wellbeing, and communication skills
  • Creating a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment

What you'll need to succeed

  • A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children with SEND, ideally in EYFS or KS1
  • A nurturing, patient and flexible approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
