Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting an extremely well-resourced and welcoming primary school in Warrington that is easily accessible via public transport as they are seeking an experience level 3 qualified EYFS teaching assistant to join their team on a full-time long-term temporary contract.

In this role, you will work across both nursery and reception classes, delivering targeted small-group learning sessions to support pupils' early development. You will ideally have strong EYFS curriculum knowledge and the confidence to lead engaging educational activities that are inclusive and associated to pupils key interests to promote engagement and meet learning goals.

Your key responsibilities

In this role, you will lead on small group focused interventions, specifically to support fine motor skills, phonics, reading and early numeracy and literacy. Other duties will include:

  • Support high-quality teaching and learning across EYFS settings
  • Create a welcoming, safe, and stimulating learning environment
  • Adapt activities to meet the individual needs and developmental stages of pupils
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and the wider EYFS team to ensure consistent learning outcomes
  • Maintain accurate records of progress and contribute to planning where required


What you'll need to succeed


To be considered in your application you must have:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Early Years or equivalent
  • Strong, recent referenceable experience within a Nursery and/or Reception class
  • Sound understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development
  • Ability to deliver engaging, high-quality activities that promote early learning
  • A nurturing, positive, and proactive approach to supporting young children
