Level 2 Teaching Assistants St Helens & Newton Le Willows
We are working closely with welcoming and inclusive schools in the St Helens and Newton Le Willows area that are seeking Level 2 Teaching Assistants to work within their EYFS, KS1 and KS2 classes. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners while working in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Your duties throughout the day will include:
- Support pupils across EYFS, KS1, or KS2 in small groups and one-to-one settings
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
- Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive learning attitudes
- Provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs (SEND)
- Prepare learning materials and resources
- Support pupils during break and lunch times as needed
- Contribute to the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour
- Supporting children’s learning through play and structured activities
- Assisting with personal care needs (nappy changing if in EYFS
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
What you'll need to succeed
- Level 2 or above qualification in Childcare, Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a related field
- Experience working in an EYFS setting
- Comfortable and confident providing personal care (if in EYFS)
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Full right to work in the UK
- An up to date Overseas Police Check if you have been living outside the UK
