Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Warrington-based nursery school that is at the heart of its local community as they require a qualified and motivated teaching assistant to join their team on a full-time long-term temporary basis. This is an extremely supportive and welcoming school that holds a family ethos, ensuring that the needs of pupils and colleagues are at the heart of all operations.


You will be joining an extremely inclusive and supportive team on a long-term temporary basis, working alongside colleagues to promote the engagement, learning and development of all pupils across the school. You will be supporting pupils between the ages of 2–5 on a 1:1 and small group basis within main classes, forest school and a designated provision. As you will be supporting across the school, you will be required to take a pupil-centred approach to education, ensuring that each pupil's individual personality, developmental and attainment needs are met. Other core duties will include but may not be limited to:

  • Delivering educational sessions in line with the EYFS national curriculum
  • 1:1 SEN support
  • Supporting fine motor skills development
  • Learn through play to promote social and emotional development
  • Giving valid input to support learning journeys
  • Use of internal systems such as tapestry
  • Personal/intimate care (nappy changing)


What you'll need to succeed

To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, have a minimum of 40 days of referenceable classroom experience within EYFS, and:

  • Be able to commit to a long-term full-time contract
  • Be comfortable with personal/intimate care
  • Be at minimum Level 2 Childcare Care Learning and Development or equivalent qualified
  • Have good knowledge of the EYFS national curriculum
