We are working with a forward-thinking law firm seeking to appoint a Knowledge Director to lead and evolve its knowledge management strategy. This is a central, firm-wide role – not tied to any specific practice area – and offers a unique opportunity to shape how knowledge, innovation, and technology intersect across the business.

Your new role

• Lead the firm’s knowledge management function, working closely with PSLs across specialist business units to identify needs and align them with risk and IT strategies.
• Manage relationships and contracts with external providers.
• Quickly develop a deep understanding of the firm’s existing tech stack, including AI and innovation tools, and identify opportunities for enhancement.
• Oversee precedents, business processes, and knowledge systems to drive efficiency and consistency.
• Collaborate with Risk, IT, and other internal stakeholders to ensure knowledge initiatives support broader business goals.
• Act as a visible and strategic leader, championing knowledge sharing and innovation across the firm.

What you'll need to succeed

• A senior knowledge professional and experienced lawyer (commercial, corporate, litigation, data protection backgrounds all considered) with a strong understanding of knowledge management in a legal environment.
• Technically skilled, commercially minded, and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead change, manage complex projects, and implement strategic initiatives.
• Familiarity with GenAI, legal tech, and innovation tools is highly desirable.
