Your new company

A global investment advisory firm is looking for a legal counsel to join its London office. The company provides independent advice to institutional investors across a wide range of alternative asset classes, including hedge funds, private markets, and real assets. With a strong emphasis on transparency, long-term sustainability, and internal ownership, the firm is recognised for its commitment to best practices and industry advocacy.


Your new role

Reporting to the General Counsel, you’ll play a key role in supporting the legal and compliance needs of the UK business and wider global group. This is a broad and varied role, offering exposure to commercial, regulatory, and operational legal matters. You’ll work closely with internal teams across multiple jurisdictions and contribute to strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including supplier, service and confidentiality agreements
  • Advising internal stakeholders on legal risks and regulatory developments
  • Supporting cross-functional teams (HR, IT, Finance, Compliance) on legal matters
  • Managing external counsel and contributing to global legal projects
  • Assisting with governance

What you'll need to succeed

Essential:
  • Qualified solicitor with at least 6 years’ PQE
  • Strong drafting experience with commercial contracts including: NDAs, supply agreements, service agreements, responses to RfPs
  • Confidence working independently and across teams, with excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Experience supporting internal business functions and managing external counsel
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented approach and strong interpersonal skills
Desirable:
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance matters within the investment adviser industry
  • Practical experience of data protection legislation/IP laws
  • Familiarity with employment law
