A leading international professional services firm is seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join its established finance team in London. Your new role

As Legal Cashier, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of client account transactions, ensuring full compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules and internal policies. You will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of client monies while providing an efficient service to stakeholders across the firm.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Processing client account receipts and payments, including CHAPS, SWIFT and Faster Payments.
  • Ensuring all client account transactions comply with SRA Accounts Rules and internal controls.
  • Managing client account banking and daily transaction processing.
  • Monitoring client account balances and assisting with the resolution of residual balances.
  • Producing and reviewing weekly reports to support compliance and identify potential issues.
  • Liaising with fee earners regarding client account balances and queries.
  • Supporting bank reconciliation processes as required.
  • Monitoring and responding to requests through the cashier's inbox.
  • Building effective working relationships with partners, stakeholders and finance colleagues.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous & Recent Legal Cashier experience within a law firm.
  • Strong understanding of the SRA Accounts Rules.
  • Experience handling client account transactions and client monies.
  • Knowledge of CHAPS, SWIFT and Faster Payments.
  • Experience using legal finance systems, ideally Elite 3E or a similar platform.
  • Exposure to online banking platforms.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines.
