Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs (SEN)? Hays Education is recruiting for a Learning Support Mentor to join a dynamic and inclusive Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who face barriers to learning due to social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEN, including SEMH needs, ADHD, and autism
- Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to promote engagement and progress
- Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Foster positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to student reviews
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN, ideally in a PRU or alternative provision
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Ability to build trusting relationships with students and staff
- Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or SEN support (desirable but not essential)
