We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) to join our specialist SEMH provision in Horley. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require tailored emotional support to thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted emotional literacy interventions to individuals and small groups
- Support pupils in developing self-esteem, emotional regulation, and social skills
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals
- Monitor and evaluate progress, maintaining accurate records of interventions
- Contribute to a nurturing and inclusive school environment
What you'll need to succeed
- ELSA training (or willingness to undertake training)
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEMH or SEN setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A calm, patient and flexible approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
