Learning & Development Specialist to oversee the L&D offering for an organisation in Eastleigh, Hampshire

We’re looking for an experienced Learning & Development Specialist to play a key role in shaping the growth and capability of the workforce for an organisation in Eastleigh, Hampshire. You will be working as part of a wider HR and People team which is supporting the organisation during a period of change and the L&D offering will be central to supporting the capability and potential.

Key Elements of the role
  • Oversee the Learning & Development activities of the organisation.
  • Lead and manage our apprenticeship programmes, including levy use, recruitment, onboarding, contact with managers and learner support
  • Provide a broad range of L&D solutions to develop skills and support career progression & succession planning
  • Manage and enhance our Learning Management System (LMS) – looking to explore further development.
  • Identify skills gaps and design effective development interventions
  • Design, instruction and procurement of external providers of training and leadership development
  • Oversee work experience and career outreach with local schools and colleges
  • Support professional qualifications and manage the corporate training budget
Candidates
  • Were seeking an experienced Learning & Development professional with a rounded background of providing a varied range of L&D opportunities for an organisation.
  • Preferably, you will have experience of running apprenticeship programmes and supporting learners.
  • Experience of working with LMS Systems and the development of training
  • Experience of procurement of outsourced training and development services
  • Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers like schools, colleges, apprenticeship providers and external training providers.
  • Strong communication and IT skills
  • Ability to work independently and build credibility across the organisation.
  • Preferable relevant qualifications for Learning & Development
