Hays are working with an excellent company in Telford who are looking for a Learning and Development Administrator on a permanent basis. This role will support the Learning and Development Coordinator in delivering effective training programs across the business. This role is responsible for managing training records, coordinating training logistics, and ensuring employees have access to the resources they need to develop their skills. The administrator will act as the first point of contact for all learning and development enquiries and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Your new role
As a Learning and Development Administrator- Act as the first point of contact for all learning and development enquiries, managing correspondence professionally and promptly.
- Maintain accurate training records, ensuring they are electronically filed and organised within the HR system.
- Create and amend Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Input training information into the training matrix for Production and Warehouse pathways, ensuring operator levels are correct and up to date.
- Monitor employee training progress and schedule refresher training as required.
- Provide HR and Payroll teams with accurate training pathway and level information.
- Record training hours on KPI spreadsheets, ensuring hours remain within budget (target: 10,000 hours per year).
- Manage training database entries for new employees, temporary workers, and leavers, including archiving records.
- Create and maintain training materials, attendance records, and evaluations.
- Support administration tasks including post, meeting room bookings, diary management, expenses, travel, and accommodation.
- Assist in developing training materials such as presentations, handouts, and e-learning modules.
- Answer internal and external phone calls, ensuring professional communication.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, Hygiene, and ISO 9000 standards.
- Provide support to other departments as required and carry out reasonable tasks requested by management.
What you'll need to succeed
- GCSE grades C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent) preferred.
- 1–2 years’ experience in a training or learning and development environment preferred; transferable skills from other fields considered.
- Understanding of learning and development processes, policies, and procedures.
- Computer literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of production machinery and roles is advantageous, or willingness to learn.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
