Lead Practitioner of Science - Flintshire

Hays is excited to announce a job opening for a Lead Practitioner of Science. We are collaborating with a school located in Flintshire, conveniently near the border with excellent transport links to North Wales and West Cheshire.

We are seeking a dynamic and successful individual to spearhead the development and aspirations of our educational vision. In this highly visible role, you will drive the improvement of teaching and learning, ensuring academic excellence for all students. You will also lead the monitoring, evaluation, and review of standards and provisions within the science department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and enhance the quality of teaching and learning in science.
  • Implement and develop an effective coaching and mentoring model to support colleagues.
  • Ensure the highest standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and review the standards and provision in the science subject area.

Job Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Demonstrated outstanding teaching practice and excellent behaviour management
  • Experience of lesson observations and providing constructive feedback
  • Experience of improvement planning and implementing strategies to raise student achievement, with evidence of success
  • Ability to contribute to the enhancement of learning, teaching, and curriculum quality
  • Proven track record of excellent results in KS3 and KS4
  • Experience in high-quality pupil tracking and feedback practices
