Hays is delighted to partner with a leading public sector organisation as they seek to appoint a highly credible and people centred Lead HR Business Partner on an interim basis. This is a pivotal leadership role, supporting Directorates across a complex environment and shaping the standard of excellence for HR Business Partnering.
Your new role
- Providing HR judgement grounded in empathy, fairness and strong listening skills.
- Advising confidently within policies, ensuring decisions are safe, defensible and aligned with best practice across ER, attendance, capability and redeployment.
- Acting as a proactive strategic partner to Directorate leadership, identifying risks and opportunities early and delivering value added solutions at pace.
- Leading, coaching and developing HRBPs, setting clear standards and driving a culture of high performance and compassionate professionalism.
- Handling complex and high profile casework with confidence, clarity and measured judgement.
- Building strong, credible relationships with managers, senior stakeholders and HR colleagues, ensuring difficult messages land constructively and trust is maintained.
- Taking ownership and driving actions through to outcomes—avoiding delays, blockages or process drift.
