6-month temporary contract for a lead compliance surveyor

Are you an experienced compliance professional with a strong technical background in building surveying and M&E services? I am seeking a Lead Compliance Surveyor for a 6-month temporary assignment with the potential to transition into a permanent role.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation undergoing a major modernisation programme. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring statutory compliance across a diverse property portfolio of over 500 assets, including corporate buildings and schools.
Your new role
- Lead and manage building compliance activities across a large and varied estate.
- Provide expert technical advice in building surveying, construction, and M&E engineering.
- Oversee statutory compliance programmes, PPM schedules, and CAFM system updates.
- Manage budgets of approximately £3m annually, ensuring value for money.
- Procure and manage external contractors and specialist consultants.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing compliance team.
- Act as a professional lead for health and safety compliance, including asbestos and water hygiene.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree in Building Surveying, Construction, or Mechanical & Electrical discipline.
- Professional qualifications (RICS, CIOB, CEng, or equivalent) – or working towards.
- BIOH P405 (Asbestos Management) or equivalent.
- Proven track record in compliance management within large estates.
- Strong knowledge of building regulations, statutory compliance, and contract administration.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
- Commercial acumen and experience managing significant budgets.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be paid a competitive daily rate of up to £450 (in scope of IR35). This opportunity could go permanent after the initial 6 months. This is a flexible contract offering hybrid working and an excellent team to be a part of.
