AI Solution Architect| 6 Months| Hybrid| £750 Per Day (Inside IR35)

We are working with a central government client to find a Lead AI Solution Architect who can design and deliver scalable, ethical AI solutions that align with strategic goals and national standards. This is a deeply technical role for someone who enjoys being a doer, not just a director.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Designing enterprise-level AI architectures and frameworks

  • Developing and implementing Target Operating Models (TOMs) for AI adoption

  • Defining architectural guardrails and technical standards

  • Leading the hands-on delivery of AI solutions in regulated environments

  • Collaborating with senior stakeholders to align AI strategy with business goals

  • Contributing to reusable architecture patterns and internal capability uplift

    What We’re Looking For:

  • Direct authorship of solution design documentation - Candidates must have personally written and structured architectural designs.

  • Development of architectural guardrails - Demonstrated ability to define and implement technical boundaries and standards.

  • Hands-on delivery of solutions - Proven track record of being a practitioner actively involved in building and deploying solutions.

  • Individual contribution over managerial oversight - Preference for candidates who have executed work themselves rather than solely directing teams.

  • Ability to operate as a “doer” - Must be capable of rolling up sleeves and contributing technically, not just coordinating efforts.

    Tech Stack & Experience:

  • AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry, Google Vertex, open-source AI/ML stacks

  • Deep understanding of the AI/ML lifecycle, model governance, and ethical AI

  • Familiarity with risk-based AI assurance, DPIAs, data protection, and transparency

  • Experience working in regulated or government environments

    Why Apply?
This is your chance to shape the future of AI in government—moving from design to delivery with integrity, impact, and innovation. You’ll be part of a forward-thinking team driving real transformation across public services.

  • In return, you will receive the opportunity to support a major government department. The possibility to work on a long-term contract (6 months) paying up to £750p/day (in scope of IR35). This role is a hybrid role and can be based out of any of the main hubs: York, Newcastle, Warrington, Bristol, Birmingham, London, Peterborough, Reading and Weybridge
