Your new role

As Lead Accountant within the Capital and Treasury Management team, you’ll take ownership of key financial responsibilities, including:
  • Overseeing investments, borrowing, and cashflow through effective treasury management.
  • Supporting delivery of a complex capital programme worth approximately £350 million, including major regeneration and infrastructure projects.
  • Providing financial oversight for large-scale capital projects and working closely with project officers.
  • Managing capital financing, monitoring grants, Section 106 contributions, and other funding streams.
  • Leading workload planning and resource prioritisation across your team.
This is a fixed-term contract until 31 July 2026, offering hybrid working and a salary of £40,777–£45,091 per annum.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Part-qualified CCAB accountant (or equivalent), or fully qualified AAT with strong local government finance experience.
  • Commitment to achieving full CCAB qualification within five years.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
  • Experience in line management and a collaborative approach to supporting and developing team members.
