Your new role

As a Senior Lawyer (5+ PQE) on a 12 ‑ month maternity cover, starting around 30 April, you will provide senior ‑ level support across high ‑ value and complex regulatory and infrastructure matters.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and deliver strategic legal advice to internal project and policy teams
  • Handle complex public law, regulatory, licensing, commercial, and project finance issues
  • Contribute to major infrastructure programmes central to the UK’s future energy system
  • Provide oversight and drive legal strategy across multiple project streams
  • Support and mentor junior team members
  • Bring sound judgement, independence, and clarity to fast ‑ moving matters

You will be a trusted senior member of the team with a high level of responsibility and visibility across the organisation.


What you'll need to succeed

A passion for and genuine interest in energy, infrastructure, net zero, and public law is essential.

You will also bring:

  • 5+ years’ PQE (guidelines only)
  • Experience in public law, regulatory work, project finance, procurement, or infrastructure advisory
  • The ability to lead matters independently and work confidently with senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with complex regulatory frameworks
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and enthusiasm for contributing to high ‑ impact work
