You will be joining the legal function of a highly respected and nationally recognised organisation that plays a leading role in shaping the UK’s future energy and infrastructure landscape. The organisation is known for its excellent work–life balance, collaborative culture, and a legal function that is highly regarded across the public, regulatory, and infrastructure sectors.
The Infrastructure & Major Projects team is involved in some of the UK's most complex and strategically significant developments, including:
- Offshore transmission (OFTO) tenders
- Interconnectors
- Nuclear
- Carbon Capture and Storage
- Hydrogen Transport
- Long Duration Energy Storage
The team is growing from seven to nine lawyers to support an expanding portfolio of nationally important projects.
Your new role
You will join as a Junior Lawyer (0–4 PQE) on a 12 ‑ month fixed ‑ term contract, with the team seeking someone who can start as soon as possible.
In this role, you will:
- Support senior lawyers advising internal project and policy teams
- Work across public law, regulatory, licensing, project finance, and major infrastructure matters
- Assist on public law litigation and judicial review work
- Help shape legal advice on complex, fast ‑ moving projects
- Manage your own tasks and workload with increasing autonomy
- Provide responsive, clear legal input to support high ‑ value projects across emerging energy sectors
You will be fully integrated into the team and have complete access to training, development, and wider organisational opportunities.
What you'll need to succeed
A passion for and genuine interest in energy, infrastructure, net zero, and public law is essential.
You will also thrive if you have:
- 0–4 years’ PQE (guidelines only)
- The ability to work proactively and at pace
- Strong organisational skills and confidence in managing your own workload
- Curiosity, enthusiasm, and a collaborative mindset
- A willingness to get involved in complex, high ‑ impact project and regulatory work
