Your new company

Are you a creative and environmentally driven Landscape Architect, seeking to make a tangible impact on the built and natural environment?

Do you have a particular strength in combining cutting-edge landscape design with Sustanable Drainage Systems?

HAYS Architecture and Design are working in connection with a specialist consultancy at the forefront of integrated water management and sustainable engineering in their search for a talented, experienced Landscape Architect to join their Belfast team. With a strong reputation across the UK & Ireland, carved through delivering their expertise to clients through their five offices for over 20 years, they've become renowned for their innovative solutions across areas including hydrology, SuDS, flood-risk and landscape design. Their collaborative, multi-disciplinary team pride themselves on balancing technical excellence with environmental sensitivity - working with developers, public agencies, and private clients to shape more sustainable spaces. This should appeal to those currently working for larger organisations, multi-nationals etc, and are looking for a position of influence and seniority within a relatively flat structure, yet progressive & successful, homegrown company.

Your new role

As a Landscape Architect with this compelling consultancy, you’ll bring a passion for design that performs both aesthetically and ecologically. This role is ideal for professionals with demonstrable experience in SuDS integration, green-blue infrastructure, and landscape-led masterplanning. Based in their Belfast office, you’ll contribute to a wide range of exciting projects that push the boundaries of climate-responsive, future-ready design. With a reporting line straight into the Director, you'll help bolster and broaden their Landscape Design capacity, and take a lead position on significant projects and be part of the job-winning team for future schemes. Roles & responsibilities will be clarified as part of the process, but in general would be those commonly expected / associated with a Landscape Architect.

What you'll need to succeed

You should have a Bachelors or Masters level Degree in Landscape Architecture (accredited program proffered), with a minimum of 5 years Post-Qualification experience working within a consultancy setting. You should have a proven track record in designing and implementing SuDS strategies (eg. rain gardens, swales, permeable surfaces etc.), and be a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institure (CMLI) or working towards this. You should be proficiency across AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and GIS Tools, with a strong understanding of UK Planning Policy and environmental regulations related to water management. Experience with hydraulic modelling or collaboration with civil engineers regarding drainage design would be a desirable addition, but is non-essential. In a wider sense you should be passionate about the environment and sustainability, with a professional commitment to sustainable design principles and climate-resilient landscapes. You should have experience and / or the ability to integrate SuDS into multi-functional public realm and green infrastructure projects, with a familiarity around BREEAM, LEED or other sustainability frameworks. In terms of softer skills, you should have excellent communication and presentation skills for client and stakeholder engagement, with strong project and team management abilities, to include budget and timeline oversight. You should be a strong team player, with the added ability to work independently when required.

What you'll get in return

A full-time, senior position with a home-grown organisation who continue to go from strength-to-strength, increasing both their reputation and market share. For the right Landscape Architect, this position will offer the progressive blend of competitive remuneration & benefits, but also a challenging-yet-rewarding opportunity to both broaden your remit, skill-set and position as the company continues to gather momentum. In a job market that often only contains similar positions within much large, often disconnected teams & organisations.
