RSWs needed for shift cover at Stourbridge Children's home

Your new company

This is a unique setting, in that it is a setting for children with learning disabilities, spread across 6 children homes spread across their site.
The service believes that it is vital that all children benefit from a nurturing and therapeutic environment which allows their young people the opportunity to lead holistic lifestyles. These lifestyles incorporate health, education and new experiences in a residential setting in which disability does not define them as a person.

Your new role

You will be providing shift cover when needed across the 6 childrens homes, although the service do try to match you to the home that best suits your experience and will try where possible to give you shifts at that hope, both to allow you and the young people the consistency to build positive relationships.

Your main role as a support worker will be ensuring the safety and comfort of service users. You will be working within children's homes, so as well as carry out tasks to ensure the smooth running of the home, you should also encourage service users to have confidence and high self-esteem, but most importantly for them to have fun.

You will be working with young people from a variety of backgrounds, with some having experienced trauma in the past. With this, behaviour can be challenging and you will need to be adaptable. Despite the challenges, this will be a rewarding role.
