Your new company
Hays Education is working with a rising number of primary schools across Telford who are seeking confident and supportive Teaching Assistants to work within Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6). Schools are requesting additional TA support for both short term and long term placements, creating excellent opportunities for those who enjoy working with older primary pupils.

Your new role
As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across Years 3, 4, 5 and 6, helping to deliver structured learning, guide independent work, and reinforce key curriculum skills. Your role may involve supporting small group activities, 1:1 intervention programmes, general classroom support, or assisting with whole class learning depending on each school’s needs.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident supporting older primary learners, enjoys academic challenge, and wants a flexible and rewarding role across a variety of school settings.

We can offer:
  • Same day cover as well as pre‑booked assignments
  • Full day or half day roles (AM or PM)
  • Daily supply and short term opportunities
  • Long term placements lasting from 2 weeks up to the remainder of the academic year
We will work with you to secure placements that align with your skills, experience and availability.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Ideally a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, as many KS2 roles require this under school guidelines
  • However, we also welcome candidates with strong, recent and referenceable experience supporting children in KS2 within a UK primary school
  • Recent, relevant references
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Confidence supporting children’s academic progress and independence in Years 3–6
  • A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

What you'll get in return
  • Flexible working options to suit your availability
  • Competitive daily pay
  • Choice of PAYE or Umbrella payroll
  • Support from a highly experienced Hays consultant with 18 years in primary recruitment
  • Access to FREE CPD and training opportunities
  • A range of rewarding KS2 placements across Telford schools
