Warrington. Level 2. 1:1 support in KS2, SEMH and behaviours. Long-term contract starting September
Your new company
Hays Recruitment is proud to be supporting a mainstream 3-form entry primary school in Warrington that is at the heart of its local community as they are looking to appoint an experienced and motivated level 2 teaching assistant to support a male year 5 pupils on a 1:1 basis to support their behaviours and integrate them into the year 5 class. This is a full-time long-term contract (32.5 hours per week) starting from 02/09/2025.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting a male year 5 pupil on a 1:1 basis that has SEMH and presents complex behavioural needs. You will act as his main point of contact throughout the school day, meeting him at the school gate and taking him back to his grown-up at the end of the school day. The pupil you will be supporting has been subject to previous trauma in early life and such does present complex behavioural needs. Due to this, he spends more time out of the classroom and has struggled to access the curriculum. To aid in his integration into the main class and to ensure he reaches his full academic potential, you will build a strong constructive relationship with him by getting to know him and delivering 1:1 well-being sessions, teaching him how to manage his own behaviours and emotional tendencies. As well as this, you will implement an array of positive behaviour strategies, including movement breaks, brain breaks, sensory circuits and positive reinforcement.
What you'll need to succeed

- Have extensive referenceable experience supporting SEN (ideally SEMH and behavioural needs)
- Be able to implement behavioural interventions and positive behaviour strategies
- Be able to commit to a long-term full-time contract
What you'll get in return
If you are successful in your application, you will receive the full support, dedication and guidance of a senior DfE accredited recruitment consultant, as well as a wide range of benefits that include:
- Free training
- Upfront cost of DBS covered
- Long-term contract
- Competitive rate of pay
- Company pension scheme
- Full holiday entitlement
- Access to exclusive vacancies
