Your new company

Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting an extremely welcoming and inclusive single-form entry primary school in Runcorn as they require an experienced and reliable teaching assistant to support in their KS1 designated provision. This is a full-time long-term temporary contract with an immediate start that will last until the end of the academic year (subject to the school continuing to receive funding). You will work in collaboration with the class teacher and other teaching assistants to deliver a stimulating and engaging learning environment by utilising an array of learning equipment and implementing an array of positive behaviour strategies that your pupils best respond to. Other duties will include:
  • Delivery of ELSA interventions including self-esteem, regulation strategies, and emotional well-being
  • Interventions and boosters in core subjects
  • Liaising with parents/guardians including attending parents evenings
  • Recording pupil progress and recognising key milestones

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, a minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years, and:

  • Experience working with SEN (SEMH is highly advantageous)
  • Experience implementing positive behaviour strategies
  • Being ELSA trained is advantageous
  • Having an NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous

What you'll get in return

If you are successful in your application, you will receive the full support, dedication and guidance of a senior DfE accredited recruitment consultant, as well as a wide range of amazing benefits, that include:

  • Free training
  • Upfront cost of DBS covered
  • Long-term contract
  • Possible permanent contract
  • Competitive rate of pay
  • Full holiday entitlement
  • Company pension scheme (Nest)
  • Access to exclusive vacancies
