KS1 Teacher Runcorn

Are you a qualified and enthusiastic KS1 teacher looking for flexible and rewarding work in Runcorn? We are currently supporting a number of primary schools in the area who are seeking reliable and passionate supply teachers to cover short-term and long-term absences across Key Stage 1. These schools offer a warm and inclusive environment, where staff are valued and pupils are eager to learn.

As a KS1 supply teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that follow the national curriculum, managing classroom behaviour effectively, and ensuring that all pupils feel supported and encouraged in their learning. You’ll be working with children aged 5 to 7, helping them build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and social development. Whether you're newly qualified or have years of experience, your ability to adapt quickly and bring energy to the classroom will be key.

This role offers excellent flexibility, allowing you to choose the days you work and the schools you support. It’s ideal for teachers seeking a better work-life balance, those returning to the profession, or anyone looking to gain experience in a variety of school settings. We offer competitive daily rates, ongoing support from our experienced team, and access to professional development opportunities.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Recent experience teaching (whether completed as part of your placement or employment)
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt quickly to different school environments
  • A genuine passion for education and helping students thrive
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A flexible and proactive approach to teaching
  • An enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Full right to work in the UK
  • Willing to obtain references
  • An up to date Overseas Police Check if you have been living outside the UK

What you'll get in return

  • A fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension or permanent employment
  • A rewarding and flexible role
  • A dedicated consultant from Hays Education who will provide you with advice, guidance, and support throughout your placement
  • A competitive salary depending on your qualifications and experience
  • Access to free online training courses
  • Full holiday entitlement
  • Work with a globally established company with a wide client network
  • Access to exclusive vacancies
