Key Stage 1 Teacher - Sefton

Key Stage 1 Teacher – Primary School in Sefton (ASAP Start)

A friendly and supportive primary school in Sefton is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator who is dedicated to helping young learners develop strong foundations in literacy, numeracy and personal development.

Role Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons for pupils in Year 1 or Year 2.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where children feel safe, valued and eager to learn.
  • Support children’s academic, social and emotional development in line with the KS1 curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, the SENCO and wider school staff.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress.
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute to the wider school community.

Qualifications Needed
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – required to teach in maintained primary schools in England.
  • GCSE English, Maths and Science (grade 4/C or above) – required for primary teacher training routes.
  • A bachelor’s degree, either with QTS included or followed by postgraduate teacher training such as a PGCE.

Experience Needed
  • Experience teaching or training within Key Stage 1 or early primary settings.
  • Ability to create engaging, age‑appropriate lesson plans and deliver high‑quality teaching.
  • Strong understanding of child development and early primary learning needs.
  • Experience supporting pupils with different learning styles and abilities.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and behaviour‑management skills.
