Junior Data Analyst Job Paying up to £35,000 pa in Southampton
Job title: Operations Strategy Analyst
Location: The centre of Southampton, with occasional travel to our London office and flexibility to work from home
Reports to: Head of Operations Analytics
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
We are excited to share a new vacancy in our Operations Analytics team. This role would be perfect for someone who is keen to kickstart their career, the learning and development will be provided. Joining a small but impactful team of three, the successful candidate will play a key role in providing analytic support to the entire Operations function. This vacancy is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to multiple functions in a successful financial services company, which puts the customer at the heart of everything they do.
What is the Role?
This trainee role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the optimisation of our personal loan processes, customer experience, and operational efficiency through data-driven insights.
Responsibilities include:
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Collect, clean, and analyse operational data from various sources (e.g., loan applications, customer service, payment systems).
Develop dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs such as loan processing times, approval rates, and customer satisfaction.
Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement.
Operational Support:
Collaborate with Operations managers to understand business challenges and provide databacked recommendations.
Support the implementation of automation and efficiency initiatives across the loan lifecycle.
Stakeholder Communication
Present findings in a clear and actionable format to non-technical stakeholders.
Assist in preparing monthly performance reviews and regulatory reports.
Tool Development
Help build and maintain analytical tools using SQL, Python, and BI platforms (e.g., Quicksight, Power BI, Tableau).
What Are We Looking For?
Essential:
A degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in SQL and Excel.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
Desirable:
Experience with Python, R, or data visualisation tools.
Internship or project experience in financial services or data analytics.
Understanding of personal loan products and customer journeys.
