About the Role
A large public sector organisation is seeking an experienced HR professional with strong expertise in school operations and job evaluation to support its Schools Job Evaluation programme. This is a critical role providing technical advice, guidance, and hands-on support to schools and their HR providers during the review and update of Job Descriptions and Person Specifications (JDPS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with schools to clarify existing roles and assist in developing updated JDPS documents, including writing person specifications.
  • Provide advice and guidance to schools and HR providers on organisational policy during JD reviews and JD workshops.
  • Examples include addressing duties outside the original JD, assessing job redesign needs, and rectifying historic pay anomalies (e.g., first-aider allowances).
  • Offer technical advice and support for dispute resolution processes, including attendance at dispute panels and casework alignment with organisational policies.
  • Ensure employer policies and guidance are accessible, well-communicated, and meet the needs of schools.
  • Troubleshoot ad hoc issues at the interface of Job Evaluation, policy, school practice, and independent HR advisors.
Expertise Required
  • Strong understanding of school operations and HR practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of roles within schools and associated grading structures.
  • Ability to interpret and apply employer responsibilities and policies.
  • Skilled in navigating complex issues and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
