IT Technician (Permanent) based in Bury St. Edmunds
Location: Bury St. Edmunds
Term: Permanent
Working Hours: 37 Hours
Working Pattern: Full-time Hybrid, travel to different sites required across Bury St. Edmunds
Salary: £26,000-£28,600

As the IT Technician, you will provide 1st line support to users, look after IT equipment, install, order and maintain software/hardware and provide technical support.

Key Responsibilities:
- Resolving IT issues reported through the service desk ticketing system
- Assisting in the maintenance and monitoring of the organisation’s network infrastructure
- Installing new software and upgrading existing applications
- Providing technical support to end users across the organisation
- Running diagnostics and troubleshooting hardware/software problems
- Maintaining hardware peripherals (e.g. printers, external drives, visualisers)
- Ensuring systems are secure and compliant with relevant safety and data protection standards
- Supporting users through training and guidance on IT systems and tools
Key Requirements:
- Enjoy working in a collaborative and learning-focused environment
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Possess knowledge of operating systems, networking, hardware, and commonly used software
- Exhibit strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Have good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Be able to explain technical issues and solutions clearly to non-technical users
- Capable of prioritising tasks, working under pressure, and meeting deadlines
- Take a patient and methodical approach to troubleshooting and support
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Maintain an awareness of health, safety, and data protection standards
