Interim IT Technician in high school (January start)

Your new company

You will be working in a high school in Bolton that is part of a highly respected educational mufti academy trust. The role is an interim vacancy from January onwards.

Your new role

As an Interim IT Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the school’s ICT provision. Working onsite Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00, you will:
  • Manage and maintain software, hardware, and ICT consumables.
  • Support the school’s ICT network, ensuring data security, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Provide ICT training and support to staff, learners, and parents.
  • Promote safe and innovative use of ICT, particularly around the internet and social media use.
  • Deliver enrichment activities and assist with classroom learning where required.
  • Liaise with central ICT teams and external stakeholders to ensure effective ICT services.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need:
GCSEs (including English and Maths) and relevant ICT qualifications/training.
  • Have an Enhanced DBS (we can get one pending)
  • Experience troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
  • Strong knowledge of managing school ICT networks, including data backup and recovery.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate inventories.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, learners, parents, and external partners.
