An award-winning architectural design practice, renowned for its creativity, sustainability, and collaborative ethos, is seeking a dedicated First Line Support Engineer to join its dynamic team. The studio is home to visionary architects and designers who rely on robust, responsive IT systems to bring their ideas to life. Your Role
The First Line Support Engineer will act as the initial point of contact for all IT-related queries across the practice. They will provide technical support to staff, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure the smooth operation of the studio’s digital infrastructure. The role involves supporting both general office systems and specialist design software, contributing to the overall efficiency and creativity of the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering first-line technical support via phone, email, and in person.
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
- Setting up and configuring desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Supporting design software such as AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Managing user accounts and access rights.
- Assisting with IT onboarding and inductions of new staff.
- Maintaining IT asset inventory and documentation.
- Escalating complex issues to second-line support or external providers.
What You Need to Succeed
- Previous experience in a first-line IT support role, ideally within a creative or design-led environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and basic networking principles.
- Familiarity with design software support is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
- Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft MCP are desirable.
