IT Support Analyst - Swansea (On Site) - Up to £40,000 DOE

Macmillan Distribution (MDL) in Swansea operates a modern 500,000 square foot facility equipped with advanced technology for efficient book distribution. Handling over 1 million books weekly and maintaining around 65,000 titles, MDL ensures high service levels with stock accuracy exceeding 99.6%. This makes them a key player in the book distribution industry, supporting both the UK and international markets.

Your new role

Provide IT support to the MDL Swansea warehouse, ensuring the maintenance and functionality of essential business systems, particularly the Warehouse Management System (WMS) – Blue Yonder. Additionally, manage bespoke systems such as SSI-Schaefer Conveyor WAMAS, Vista, Planet Press Printing, and others. Support Windows OS (desktop & server) and associated hardware and software, including Google for Work Administration. Handle various hardware like PCs, printers, warehouse Wi-Fi, and voice equipment. Assist the wider/global Macmillan IT team in diagnosing and testing IT infrastructure issues and changes. Collaborate closely with 3rd party support vendors, monitor and control the performance and access to Macmillan business systems, manage data backup schedules and security, and build PCs to company standards while installing new and updated software as required.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Microsoft desktop products and operating systems
  • Google for Work application suite (desirable)
  • Able to work to targets reliably with limited supervision
  • Competency with language to clearly articulate solutions and suggestions to others
  • Organisation, prioritisation and time management
