IT Asset Manager - Permanent - Newport - Hybrid - c£65k

Hays are supporting an organisation in Newport to recruit a permanent IT Asset Manager. The role is paying between c£60k - £70k depending on experience and offers hybrid working 50/50. You’ll also receive a great benefits package (including a private pension up to 15% and an annual bonus scheme).

In the role you will lead asset lifecycle management, covering hardware, software, licenses, and tech components. The role ensures compliance with policies and regulations, drives process improvement, and boosts operational efficiency within a critical infrastructure setting. You'll manage a team and vendor partnerships, overseeing asset performance and resource optimisation across both IT and OT environments. This is a strategic opportunity to shape asset management, while mentoring others and solving complex challenges.

Requirements include:

  • Skilled in asset management tools like ServiceNow and CMDB
  • Experienced in software asset tracking and compliance (SAM)
  • Deep understanding of IT/OT hardware, software, and networking assets
  • Manages full asset lifecycle: procurement to decommissioning
  • Well-versed in industry standards (e.g. ISO 55001, GDPR)
  • Proficient in budgeting and optimising asset usage
  • Strong team leadership and performance management
