12 month Fixed Term Contract for Internal Audit Manager

Your new company

Our client, a leading banking and financial services business has a new opportunity for an experienced Internal Audit manager to fulfil a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.


Your new role

In this role, you are leading in the delivery of high impact audits, delivering quality assurance over the management of key risks and the effectiveness of controls, to enhance the control environment.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Leading the delivery of audits to time and budget, including planning, execution, reporting and follow-up activities.
• Managing internal audit delivery in line with methodology (capturing key risks, performing robust testing and avoiding false assurance) while maintaining compliance with information security requirements (confidentiality of documentation and encryption).
• Producing high quality audit reports, which clearly articulate the risks and root cause, and detail recommendations which build a better control environment and add value to IMS.
• Promoting the continuous improvement of risk management and control processes across IMS through the development of ongoing relationships with management.
• Contributing to annual audit planning through bringing insights and challenge to the management of key risks.
• Maintaining high technical and professional standards, through continuous professional education and development.

What you'll need to succeed

You will ideally be professionally qualified in IIA/CA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent. However, consideration will also be given to those qualified by experience, provided extensive expertise in internal audit within FS.

Furthermore, you should possess:
• Previous internal audit experience, preferably in Financial Services
• Broad knowledge of the risks and controls within financial services companies with experience in the sector.
• The ability to work under your own initiative to plan, organise, prioritise, and oversee activities to efficiently meet business objectives.
• Advanced communication skills with the ability to positively challenge and enable key stakeholders.

SME experience in the following areas would be beneficial but is not essential (Insurance Broking/Underwriting, Reinsurance, Supplier Management, Claims, Financial Crime, Conduct Risk, Data Analytics, Finance & Actuarial, financial services regulation (conduct and prudential)).
