The organisation is undergoing a period of transition and requires an experienced SEO professional to maintain performance and ensure continuity during a website migration/redesign. Please note this role is 4 days a week for an initial 3-month contract period.

Your new role
As Interim SEO Manager, you will take ownership of day-to-day SEO performance, ensuring stability across technical health, rankings, and content delivery. This is a hands-on role focused on protecting existing performance, identifying risks early, and maintaining content momentum.
As Interim SEO Manager, you will take ownership of day-to-day SEO performance, ensuring stability across technical health, rankings, and content delivery. This is a hands-on role focused on protecting existing performance, identifying risks early, and maintaining content momentum.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitor Google Search Console daily for crawl, indexation, and performance issues
- Track keyword rankings and visibility using tools such as Semrush
- Identify and escalate any significant traffic, ranking, or indexation drops
- Conduct regular technical health checks (Core Web Vitals, page performance, errors)
- Monitor and resolve issues such as broken links, redirects, and 404s
- Ensure all new content is indexed correctly and aligned with SEO best practice
- Support the ongoing delivery of the content pipeline, flagging delays where required
- Track SERP feature changes (e.g. AI overviews, featured snippets) and highlight opportunities or risks
- Maintain clear documentation and reporting to support a smooth handover to a permanent hire
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in an SEO Manager or Senior SEO role (agency or in-house)
- Strong technical SEO knowledge, including site health, indexation, and Core Web Vitals
- Experience with SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Semrush
- Ability to monitor and interpret ranking and traffic data, identifying trends quickly
- Experience working with large-scale websites or marketplaces is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work autonomously in a contract environment with minimal supervision
