Your new company

We are currently supporting a well-established public sector organisation to recruit an Interim Senior Procurement Manager to support its commercial function with several high-value IT / DDaT tenders.

Your new role

You will lead end‑to‑end IT procurement activity in line with public sector regulations and the Procurement Act 2023. You will provide expert guidance throughout the full commercial lifecycle, supporting internal partners to make informed decisions and ensuring every procurement is delivered compliantly and effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the procurement of several major IT contracts, including requirement definition, market engagement, drafting terms and conditions, tendering and contract mobilisation.
• Leading the procurement of a replacement for a business‑critical service contract through an open framework route.
• Managing supplier and market engagement to ensure high quality, competitive outcomes.
• Drafting commercial documentation and supporting the management of service level agreements with partner organisations.
• Advising stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership, on commercial strategy, risk, governance and procurement best practice.
• Ensuring full compliance with public sector procurement regulations and organisational policies.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Proven experience delivering high-value procurements within a public sector environment
• Strong capability in guiding colleagues through the procurement lifecycle, adapting your communication style effectively.
• Demonstrable experience delivering procurements through government frameworks (e.g CCS).
• Solid understanding of the Procurement Act 2023 and public sector compliance requirements.
• Excellent supplier relationship management skills and the ability to navigate complex commercial considerations.
• Strategic and creative thinking, with the ability to assess commercial impacts on finances, risk and organisational resources.
• Strong influencing and communication skills, enabling you to operate confidently at all levels, including with Board members.

What you’ll get in return

• Up to £655 per day (Inside IR35)
• Flexible hybrid working with only one day per week required on site.
• A six month contract with potential for extension.
