Hays Education are seeking an experienced Interim School Business Manager to join a school in Middlesbrough on a full-time temporary basis for approximately 9 weeks.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established School Business Manager who can quickly integrate into a busy school environment and provide leadership across finance, administration, compliance, HR, and operational functions.
The Role
- Oversee the day-to-day business operations of the school.
- Support the Senior Leadership Team with financial planning and budget management.
- Ensure compliance with school policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
- Lead and support administrative and support staff.
- Manage procurement, contracts, and resource allocation.
- Provide operational leadership to ensure the smooth running of the school.
The Ideal Candidate
✅ Previous experience as a School Business Manager is essential
✅ Strong knowledge of school finance, administration, and compliance processes
✅ Experience supporting school leadership teams
✅ Excellent organisational and communication skills
✅ Ability to work independently and hit the ground running
✅ Experience within a school environment is essential
✅ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is compulsory
