You will be privy to Hays worker discounts and weekly timesheet payments, through either the relative PAYE or Umbrella pay methods. This role sits inside IR35, so no limited companies.

Your new role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Manager to join a dynamic public sector organisation on an interim basis. This is a pivotal role focused on leading procurement activities across construction and capital works, with a strong emphasis on the
NEC suite of contracts. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that public funds are spent wisely, efficiently, and in a way that delivers maximum value. This interim position is designed to provide strategic procurement leadership while the organisation recruits for a permanent hire. It offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a high-profile category, contributing to the delivery of essential infrastructure and capital programmes.

- Lead end-to-end procurement processes for complex and high-value professional services contracts.
- Develop and implement category strategies aligned with the Procurement Strategy.
- Ensure compliance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, Procurement Act 2023, and internal governance.
- Provide expert advice to stakeholders on procurement best practices, market engagement, and contract management.
- Draft and manage tender documentation, evaluation reports, and contract award recommendations.
- Monitor supplier performance and support contract management to drive continuous improvement.
What you'll need to succeed

- Proven experience in public sector procurement
- Strong knowledge of UK public procurement legislation and frameworks.
- Demonstrable experience in category management and strategic sourcing.
- Ability to manage multiple complex procurement projects simultaneously.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using e-procurement systems and tools.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIPS Level 4 or above).
