Interim Management Accountant
Location: Plymouth, Devon (Hybrid – 2 days per week in office)
Day Rate: Up to £250 per day
Start Date: January 2026 – booking likely to last 9 months with possibility of an extension

Your New Role
As an Interim Management Accountant, you will provide accurate and timely financial information to support strategic decision-making and ensure resources are used effectively to maximize community benefit. Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparing monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
  • Delivering variance analysis and advising budget holders
  • Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting external audits and ensuring compliance with VAT and financial regulations

This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week in the Plymouth office, giving you the chance to work closely with a team passionate about creating positive change in Devon.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or equivalent experience
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience in management accounts
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems (e.g., Sage or ERP)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills to influence and support non-finance stakeholders
  • Experience in charity sector or public sector finance (desirable but not essential)
