Your new company

A leading multinational engineering consultancy is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its UK & Ireland business on a short-term contract. The company delivers complex infrastructure and construction projects across the region and is known for its technical excellence and collaborative culture. This strategic role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile developments while working within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.


Your new role

You will provide legal support across a range of non-contentious construction and infrastructure matters, working closely with commercial, technical, and operational teams. Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on construction contracts, procurement strategies, and ancillary documentation

  • Drafting and negotiating NEC, JCT, and other industry-standard forms

  • Supporting project teams with contract interpretation, risk management, and compliance

  • Liaising with external counsel as needed

  • Assisting with internal governance and approvals processes

  • Operating independently while collaborating across the UK&I business


What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

Essential:

  • Qualified solicitor (3+ PQE)

  • Strong experience in non-contentious construction law

  • Proficiency in NEC and JCT contracts

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • A proactive, independent approach and the ability to manage competing priorities

Desirable:

  • In-house experience, particularly within a consultancy or contractor environment

  • Infrastructure or engineering sector experience
