A leading housing provider committed to delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards across its property portfolio is looking for an Interim Head of Repairs. You will lead the delivery of responsive repairs and complex works across a large housing stock. You will manage disrepair cases, damp and mould prevention, and ensure compliance with all safety and property legislation. This role involves overseeing a significant annual budget (circa £20m) and leading a team of approximately 170 employees to deliver over 125,000 repairs annually.

You will lead the delivery of responsive repairs and complex works across a large housing stock. You will manage disrepair cases, damp and mould prevention, and ensure compliance with all safety and property legislation. This role involves overseeing a significant annual budget (circa £20m) and leading a team of approximately 170 employees to deliver over 125,000 repairs annually.
Your new role
- Full accountability for responsive repairs, minor works, legal disrepair, and damp/mould prevention.
- Manage and forecast budgets, ensuring value for money and compliance.
- Lead and develop a high-performing, customer-focused team.
- Act as an escalation point for complex complaints and provide assurance to senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Optimise workforce productivity and contractor performance.
- Participate in senior-level meetings and present reports to executive boards.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven senior leadership experience in repairs or maintenance within housing or construction.
- Strong commercial awareness and budget management skills.
- Knowledge of housing sector regulations and health & safety legislation.
- Ability to manage a large mobile workforce across multiple locations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- IT literacy and experience with repair management systems.
- Relevant qualifications in construction or housing management (or equivalent experience).
- Full driving licence and ability to travel.
