Interim Finance Manager - Penrith - Maternity cover

Your new company

Our client is a rapidly expanding, owner-managed group business based in Penrith. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Interim Finance Manager to join their dynamic finance team on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave.
This is a pivotal role within a fast-paced and well-regarded business. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead a small, experienced finance team and play a key role in managing the company’s financial health while providing strategic financial insights across the business.

Typical duties will include:
  • Cashflow forecasting and management of working capital requirements
  • Management of debt provisions and funding with external partners
  • Ensuring profitability of the live projects, communicating with stakeholders and throughout the business
  • Fulfilling the reporting requirements of JV partner
  • Management of overheads
  • Staff management of a team of 2 Finance staff, both experienced, min 2 years tenure
  • Continuous improvement of systems and processes
  • Ensure that outputs and work standards meet the expectations of all stakeholders
  • Identifying opportunities to continually improve financial insight is provided to the wider business
  • Attending board meetings to present key financial information

Skills required
  • QBE or qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with a strong commercial acumen
  • Experience of the construction industry is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills with a hands-on approach
  • Knowledge of Sage is beneficial
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Team player with the ability to influence the finance team and communicate effectively throughout the business
