Your new role
Due to maternity leave, our client is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join their finance team on a long-term contract through to October 2027.
Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will act as a trusted business partner to a range of senior stakeholders, including Directors. You will provide financial insight, challenge and support to help drive informed decision-making across the organisation.

Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will act as a trusted business partner to a range of senior stakeholders, including Directors. You will provide financial insight, challenge and support to help drive informed decision-making across the organisation.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Building strong relationships with senior budget holders and directors
- Leading monthly forecasting activities and supporting cashflow forecasting
- Meeting regularly with stakeholders to review financial performance and projected outturns
- Identifying financial risks and opportunities and ensuring appropriate action is taken
- Preparing and presenting month-end financial reports
- Managing actuals, accruals and prepayments within the month-end process
- Supporting budget readiness and change requests where required
- Analysing financial data and translating complex information into clear business recommendations
- Working with SUN financial systems, Excel reporting tools and the organisation's P2P system

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Previous experience operating in a Management Accountant/Finance Business Partner role
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge senior leaders
- Experience delivering budgeting, forecasting and month-end processes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt your style to different audiences
- A proactive approach to identifying and managing financial risks and opportunities
- Strong Excel skills and financial analysis capability
- Experience within the public sector, wider public sector, not-for-profit or regulated environments would be highly advantageous
- Qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience (QBE) candidates will all be considered
