The business is known for its commitment to community impact and continuous improvement, and is currently seeking a talented finance professional to join its Commercial Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Your new role
As Commercial Finance Analyst Lead, you’ll play a key role in delivering performance insights, financial modelling, and reporting across the division. You’ll partner with finance business partners and commercial teams to support strategic initiatives, identify financial risks and opportunities, and embed these into forecasts and budgets. Your work will directly influence decision-making and drive improvements in business performance.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Apply commercial insight and data modelling expertise to deliver actionable financial analysis that supports strategic initiatives and improves performance.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across commercial and finance teams to produce accurate reporting, forecasting, and planning outputs.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities, integrating them into future forecasts and strategic plans.
  • Conduct regular reconciliation and variance analysis across multiple business areas, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles.
  • Support leadership communications by providing clear, data-driven narratives that inform decision-making and highlight performance trends.
  • Deliver trial analysis and support test-and-learn projects to evaluate new initiatives and their financial impact.

What you'll need to succeed
  • A professional accounting qualification (or close to completion), such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, commercial insight, or data-driven finance roles, with a strong understanding of budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • High proficiency in Excel and a solid foundation in analytical methodologies, including structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across both financial and non-financial functions.
  • A proactive mindset with excellent organisational skills, capable of managing priorities in a dynamic environment and driving continuous improvement.
