A local council is looking for an Interim Head of Procurement

Your new company
You will be joining a charity that reinvests every penny back into improving their service to their clients. If you are looking to work for an organisation where you can see the real world impact of your efforts then this is the organisation for you.

Your new role
As Category Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the procurement strategy across IT, Marketing, and HR categories. You will partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, delivering strategic sourcing solutions that drive value, innovation, and efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include managing end-to-end tender processes (RFI/RFQ), developing strong supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will also focus on maximising ROI, reducing risk, and supporting transformation initiatives across the Trust.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will be an experienced Senior Buyer or Category Manager with strong expertise across IT and HR procurement. You will have highly developed commercial and negotiation skills, with the confidence to manage contracts and supplier relationships effectively.
You will be analytically strong, with the ability to assess proposals from both a cost and risk perspective, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where you are managing multiple priorities. Strong stakeholder engagement skills are essential, along with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.

What you'll get in return
In return, you will receive a rate between £350-400/day alongside a hybrid working model that includes two days per week in the Aylesbury office. You will have the opportunity to work within a purpose-driven organisation where your contribution has a direct impact on the quality of care delivered to residents.
