Interim Assistant Management Accountant in Bristol City Centre
Your new company
You will be joining a well‑established Bristol organisation with an annual turnover typically ranging between £50 million and £150 million, supported by multiple cost centres and active budget holders. The finance team manages regular month‑end cycles involving 20 to 40 balance sheet reconciliations and oversees annual budgeting and forecasting processes valued between £40 million and £120 million. The business is familiar with bringing in interim support during peak periods, giving you clear priorities and the opportunity to add value from day one.
Your new role
- Assisting with month‑end journals, accruals and prepayments
- Supporting balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
- Assisting with the preparation of management accounts and financial reports
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes with relevant data
- Updating financial records and maintaining accurate documentation
- Working closely with wider finance teams to resolve queries
- Assisting with analysis of costs, revenues and performance trends
- Helping improve financial processes and controls where appropriate
- Supporting year‑end activities and audit requirements
- Providing general finance support across the department
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in an Assistant Management Accountant or similar finance role
- Strong understanding of month‑end processes and financial reporting
- Good Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables
- Experience using finance or ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise workloads
- Confident communicator, able to work with stakeholders across the business
- Studying AAT, ACCA or CIMA (advantageous)
