Identity Specialist – Windows 11 Deployment

We’re looking for a talented Identity Specialist to join our dynamic identity team, supporting the secure deployment and configuration of identity infrastructure for the client’s rollout of Windows 11.
3-month contract, based in London (Hybrid), Inside IR35

This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors, with a strong emphasis on troubleshooting within Microsoft Entra ID and Azure to ensure a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities
Identity Deployment & Configuration
Implement and configure identity services and infrastructure to support modern Windows 11 devices using Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting
Utilize native logging and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve authentication and authorization issues affecting UKHSA services.
Technical Support & Guidance
Provide expert support to internal teams, including operational support groups, ensuring best practices are followed.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
Create and maintain clear, actionable documentation (e.g., KB articles) to support operational procedures and empower wider support teams.
Cross-Team Collaboration
Work closely with infrastructure, security, identity, and application teams to deliver secure, integrated solutions.

Required Skills & Experience
Proven expertise in Microsoft cloud-based identity services, including:
Authentication & authorization
Conditional access
Enterprise application management
Defender for Identity
Identity lifecycle management
Strong experience with hybrid identity environments, including:
Active Directory Domain Services
DNS
Group Policy
Certificate Services
Solid grasp of networking fundamentals, protocols, and security best practices
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Desirable Skills
Microsoft Identity certification (e.g., Identity and Access Administrator Associate)
Experience with automation in identity services, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and PowerShell
Understanding of cloud-based security frameworks and services
Familiarity with ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management
